Surprising Benefits for Wealthy Affiliate Members: What reviews don’t tell you
Wealthy Affiliate is an internet and affiliate marketing training program that I have been a member of since September 2017. It is one of a few different sites that offer training in the business of setting up your own online business, but in my opinion, it is definitely one of the best. I have written a review about the business side of Wealthy Affiliate which you can read here, which talks a lot about the training, how it works, what you get for your money, and what it costs, but I also wanted to write a short post about the many other benefits of Wealthy Affiliate that I have found. And these are much more personal and to do with growing as a person, contributing to the wider world and developing self-esteem, as much as they are about building a business.
So here goes:
Here are some of the benefits and discoveries I have made about this company for which I am forever grateful: these are the beneftis of Wealthy Affiliate membership that you won’t find in the reviews.
1. It’s NOT ALL about the money
Most people who join Wealthy Affiliate are likely motivated by a desire to boost their income and invest in their future. I know I was. I wanted something that could make me money in my sleep and I wanted to give up the 9-5 slog and trading my time for money. Having a larger income is a goal for many, but I have realised that it takes time, commitment and effort to monetise a site, to build it into an authority site and to generate organic traffic through the search engines. However, one thing I have learned from reading the blogs and motivational posts and training at Wealthy Affiliate is just how much more membership of WA is about. It is about making money yes, but it is not ALL about the money by any stretch of the imagination.
What I have learned it that my journey is exciting, rewarding and compelling, not just the destination. I feel driven to do better and to make my site the best it can be, and that is about creating great content that people want to read. One of the things that gives me the greatest boost is not when I make another $10 but when someone leaves a comment on one of my blogs saying that they enjoyed reading it, or thanking me for the information and advice. That is worth so much more than money to me at that point.
Now I’m not saying that we shouldn’t chase the money, I think that would be unrealistic and counter-productive. But what I am saying is that I can appreciate the many other measures of success that I can achieve whilst waiting for the money to flow in.
2. It IS about the community
One thing that like to do in moments of reflection is to ask myself some questions such as: “Who do I know today, that I did not know at the same time last year?”
It’s an interesting question and I am always very grateful and feel very humble when I consider the answer. I can chart some of my best decisions through my answers to this question. I always find that I have met some amazing people in the last year who have inevitably opened my eyes to new opportunities, situations and led to an expansion of my life.
This year is no different but because I have joined Wealthy Affiliate, I have met some of the most amazing people all in one place and that is a benefit that no one told me about before I joined.
The people at Wealthy Affiliate are committed to their goals, passionate, and generous. They are not only trying to make their world (and thereby the world in general) a better place, but they are also willing to give back – to pay it forward and to help others along the way. And I love that. I have found some amazing friends online and their support is invaluable. There is a community of like-minded people who are positive and want to do well and that I find is a wonderful respite from some of the negativity I face with other people I know.
It’s also comforting to know that whatever question I have, there will always be people willing to help me,24/7; to share their experience and offer advice. Teamwork is not a word often used with regard to online marketers who most work alone from their own home, however, the teamwork and community spirit at Wealthy Affiliate is certainly something to shout about which is highly beneficial to all.
3. It IS about learning
Wealthy Affiliate has training at its core and the training you receive is second to none. If you want to learn how to start, maintain and monetise your website or create an online business, then you will not find a better training anywhere. What I really like about the training that I find at Wealthy Affiliate is how clear and easy to understand it is. Everything is laid out in easy-to-follow lessons and there are lessons for creating your own niche website as well as lessons for becoming a WA affiliate in your own right. Both have proven to be legitimate ways to make money online. And it doesn’t matter if you want to write about fishing, baseball or yoga; the training works equally well.
Another great benefit that I found was that it is not all just affiliate marketing; there is help with many other types of online businesses as well, such as bitcoin, online shops, creating your own products and email marketing too. This is mostly provided through the community training and blogs but it is all relevant and helpful.
Not forgetting that great community of experts so if you can’t find the answer in the actual courses, you can easily turn to the community and there will be literally thousands of creative and supportive people out there willing to help. You can’t buy that kind of encyclopaedic knowledge. In my book, it is definitely worth the membership fee alone!
Add to that the weekly webinars, personal mentoring and groups set up with particular aspirations in mind which can help you achieve your goals, such as increasing affiliate sales, or making $1000 per month, and Wealthy Affiliate has it all. All for less than the price of a take away coffee a day!
Things change almost daily in this business too, as new software it brought in, algorithms change and agreements are undated. So the fact that the Wealthy Affiliate site received hundreds of new articles on a daily basis can only stand you in good stead. It’s an organic process which is alive with answers better than any book or CD course which is out-of-date even as it leaves the presses. And I believe it is the future.
4. It IS about personal expression
I’ve left the best thing till last, which is the ability to personally express myself and have others read and appreciate my work. This, to me, is one of the best benefits of all. For a long time I had ideas of writing a book and getting my ideas out into the world and I have found a wonderful way to do that through my own website.
Everyone has a passion for something; we all have something to say and to express whether we consciously know it or not. My niche site is about the law of attraction, positive thinking and NLP and I have found a great way to express my true nature, unencumbered by negative thoughts about what other people think. I have found such support that has lifted me to a place of positive action and my book is almost complete.

That’s one of the great benefits of Wealthy Affiliates and you can see it every day; people doing things they have always wanted to do and feeling proud of themselves.That’s priceless. What do you dream of doing and have you found a way to do it yet? Maybe expressing yourself through an online blog or creating a website that thousands can read, will be your way forward; could be, couldn’t it?
It doesn’t matter what you write about either. As part of the community, I’ve learned about beach retreats, holistic remedies for cats, online gaming, healthy eating, cooking, robotic drones, fashion, books, movies, parenting, and much, much more…..the list is endless. The best bit is that they are all written by people who have found their passion, love what they do and can’t wait to get to their computers in the morning to do more. It’s a far cry from the drudgery of the 9-5. I say, “Long may it last” and “I hope that the wonderful diversity that is the Wealthy Affiliate membership, continues to thrive for many years to come.!
Ultimately, I feel like my true self has been let out of the box and nothing on earth is putting her back in there! Now that’s a great feeling that everyone should feel, shouldn’t they?
So, yes, we are all hoping that the money will flow easily to us, and it will in time. This business is a marathon not a sprint, and it takes time for websites to become established, build authority and gain traffic.
But in the meantime, what FUN we can have doing it and life is meant to be fun, right?

I am so glad you put these important points into words.
I have started my 3rd month at Wealthy Affiliate and I could not agree with you more on everything you said. I have been engaged in the training every day and I still keep learning more than I could imagine. One of the problems is that there is so much additional training offered that I have to choose what to ignore for now. I find myself adding a lot of training to my favorites so I can come back later and go through it later.
One last thing I love is with all of the anger I see in the world, I never sense those issues coming through from anyone at Wealthy Affiliate:
